Life at Mumbai --Part1
Been there n back ...
jotted down few things but couldn't upload as I felt bloging at internship would be a bit unethical :D...
So here goes the first post
THE METRO
I remember a professor’s story where he held a jar in the class, filled it with balls and asked “Is this full?” Everyone replied in affirmative and then he filled it with smaller stones , this went on till it was filled with sand and finally he pored 2 cups of coffee ... which if I remember correctly signified that … well we always have time to have a cup of coffee with friends.. the jar being the life .. full of problems, relations etc etc …
When I boarded the metro today from Andheri this story just came flashing by .. but in a different way … the train seemed like this jar filled up to the point where the prof pored this cup of coffee … in this case the compartments was filled with people like a perfect frappe … not an inch remaining ..
As the train stopped at the next station…. I was thinking .. well few people hanging from the door will go .. things will get better .. but to my surprise .. a bunch of people magically managed to get in this already overflowing frappe and everything seemed to be stable again .. 6 people sitting contently in a place for 3 with few more standing on their faces. Everyone looking oblivious of the smelting head and humidity enjoying their journey .. and to my own surprise even I was enjoying it . Then came the next station .. and bang few more got in .. no one seemed to get down .. and the compartment seemed like a magical box accommodating the increasing population . Then came the station Bandra and within a blink of an eye everything was empty … nada.. gone .. zilch.. seemed like a can of beer was opened after a vigorous shaking … everyone managed to get out from the small opening all in merely 10 sec time.. and then the train seemed strangely deserted.. a person or two sitting on a place once occupied by 6 .. the best expression on a face of a small child who got an empty seat ..the one completely empty .. that small girl sat there giving a smile as if the princess has got her throne .. hail thy highness … and after some time my station came and I got down … happy to have completed my first metro journey alone :D yippee :P.
